Survey Technician

Ecological Solutions, Inc., an environmental consulting firm in Roswell, Georgia, is seeking qualified applicants to fill a three week fall technician position(s) for a fall research project in October 2015. The applicant should have field experience This is a seasonal position conducting bat surveys in the southeast.

Job Duties

Daily and night field work includes mist-netting, acoustic surveys, radio-telemetry, data management and entry, professional contact with clients, equipment maintenance and equipment decontamination. Applicants are expected to work long days and nights, in all kinds of weather conditions and biting insects, working and hiking in challenging environments, rugged and uneven terrain or waist deep water. Research project requires capture and documentation of endangered bats.

Minimum Qualification:

Ability to work as a team or independently
Experience working long hours (days or nights) in challenging conditions
Self-motivated, positive attitude, detailed oriented, and good communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel programs
Ability to carry heavy equipment long distances in rugged terrain
Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record

Preffered Qualifications But Not Necessary::

Pre-exposure rabies vaccination
Experience with mist nets
Experience with radio-telemetry
Experience identifying bat species

Salary:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Location: Office based in Roswell, Georgia, travel throughout southeast.
